Meet Bonnie!
She is our beautiful 2 year old Great Pyrenees. She weighs just under 100 lbs. and she is gorgeous! She is very calm and mellow. She will need a low to moderately active family household. She loves human interaction, and she loves to be near her fosters. She loves to lounge next to a window so she can watch the outdoors! Playing and walking around the yard are somethings she loves best. A fenced in yard is mandatory as she needs space to roam and explore safely (chain link is not sufficient). Bonnie does not like to be enclosed in a crate. She will lay in one to relax and sleep, but only if the door is open. She loves playing with her foster siblings, however she does need to be able to eat alone.
She will do best in a household where she will not spend much time alone because she desperately craves human love and interaction. She will make a great addition to a patient and loving family!

Thank you for your interest in adopting!

A Journey Home is a 501c3, all foster/volunteer based rescue. Our rescues are living with families in their homes. We do not have a shelter.

If you are interested in adopting, email ajourneyhomedogrescue@gmail.com to request an application or visit our website to fill out an application. After your application has been received and given a preliminary approval, you will be contacted by an adoption coordinator who will conduct a phone interview. Final approval will be granted following a successful meet and greet with the entire family. Adopter must be at least 21 yrs old.

A Journey Home does not do out-of-state adoptions on unaltered puppies. Spay/neuter surgery is not done on puppies under 6 months of age. If adopting a puppy under the age of 6 months, we require that the adopter schedules the spay/neuter at our participating vet clinic when age appropriate.

Our standard adoption fee is $300, payable by cash or check. The fee includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative, a free vet visit at one of our participating clinics, and micro-chipping.

First time pet owners will be required to sign up for a puppy/training class at a place of their choice. There will be an additional $100 added to your adoption fee, which will be refunded to you upon proof the class was completed.

Please note that breed and size are our best guesses, while ages are estimated by our vets and are not guaranteed.

PLEASE consider becoming a foster home, and find out how rewarding it can be! A Journey Home provides basic needs, including medical expenses at our participating clinics located in Wheaton and Naperville. You supply the love! High kill shelters are overcrowded with dogs and puppies that need our help. More fosters on our team means we can save more lives! For more information or for a foster application please email ajourneyhomedogrescue@gmail.com or visit our website .
